About The Home Services Shop
The Mission
Our company is
committed to providing excellent customer
service and overall reliability
in performing all the small jobs and
services needed around the house.
The Market
Served
According to the
company President, Michael Gilfeather, “We know there are many people who are frustrated because they
cannot easily find qualified people to complete small jobs around
the house. As a
result, many jobs simply go undone. Our company is established
to
meet that need with multi-talented technicians capable of
completing
several types of work at one stop.”
Focus on Hiring the Right People
Customer service has been integrated into every aspect of the
Home Services Shop. Each employee is recruited and selected as
much for interpersonal and service skills as for technical
background.
So that all employees to reflect positively on the company,
management
has made extensive background checks to ensure that homeowners
can
feel comfortable with them in their homes. In addition, to
attract top
employees, we provide compensation packages including medical
benefits and incentive pay for exceptional customer service, job
quality,
and efficiency.
The company appeals most to candidates who enjoy variety in
their daily
work and who seek a company that appreciates their role of
communicating effectively with the customer. A major component
of the company’s business plan involves continuous recruitment
to hire the best employees for each required skill set.
Licensed, Insured, and Bonded
The Home Services Shop is licensed in Westchester County. This
license (Number WC-14428H-H03) is issued in accordance with
Westchester County’s Consumer Protection Code. Questions about
our license can be directed to
the Department of Consumer Protection at 914-285-2155.
We also carry liability insurance and our employees are bonded
to give homeowners additional comfort when the technicians are
in their home.
Customer Expectations
Our goal is that each
customer’s experience will be productive and positive, from
beginning to end. This begins with clear advertising, an
easy-to-navigate Web site, and an inviting, attractive, “store
front” office in the downtown shopping district of
Pleasantville.
Each telephone inquiry is typically answered by one of the
management
or staff, who can effectively discuss your project. Every e-mail
will be
returned promptly and each scheduled visit will be confirmed in
advance.
To help you decide about options for your projects, we created
the “manufacturer’s links” Web page to bring you quickly to
major manufacturers
of products we install and repair.
All employees are expected to arrive for appointments on time
(an important requirement as frequently expressed by our
customers). When the technician arrives, he will review the
scope of work and approximate completion time. During the course
of the service call, he will give periodic updates and then
finally review the completed work with the customer.
Building a Long-Term Relationship
Trust is the key to success of Home
Services Shop. Since employees are insured
and their backgrounds are checked, we hope that this customer-oriented approach will result in a satisfaction level that will
encourage
customers to call us again, as well as to recommend the Home
Services
Shop to neighbors and friends.
Over time, we plan to expand the scope of services for the home,
based on
need and demand. For services or areas of expertise that we do
not currently offer, we have a growing list of competent
referrals.
Reaching the Company Any Way You'd Like
Another important component of the company’s commitment to
service is customers’ access to the description of the company’s
services and
price list on our Web site, over the phone, and in person at
either of
our shops. This high availability is intended to make customers
feel
comfortable about getting information on services, prices, and
appointments in the way which is most convenient for them.
