Michael J. Gilfeather
Michael Gilfeather, 50, is founder and President of The Home Services Shop, LLC.
He has lived in Pleasantville since 1988 with his wife and three daughters.
Before starting the Home Services Shop in May 2001, Michael worked for The Bank
of New York where he was a senior manager in the Retail Banking business. His responsibilities
included Division Manager for all of the Manhattan branches throughout the 1990s.
He sees many similarities between his banking experience and this service company
– particularly in the fundamental importance of earning and maintaining the customer’s
trust. “Managing a business with a complete focus on how best to serve a customer,
which ultimately gains their confidence in allowing us into their home, is very
similar to the trust each bank seeks to earn by effectively handling a customer’s
money!” He envisions an increasing willingness by homeowners to do business with
a company that is consistently reliable and can be trusted. It is this philosophy
which is the foundation of this business.
Kurt McKinney
Kurt McKinney joined Home Services Shop as a sales manager in 2001 and was promoted
to Vice President in 2005. As a longtime Pleasantville resident he understands the
need to have someone you can count on to maintain the value of a Westchester home.
"It's just so hard to get people to come out to do small jobs, every body is
a specialist and what we all really need is someone who can do it all." He
was initially attracted to the company because he believed there was such a strong
need for a service like this.
